DJ, composer, arranger, and producer John Thomas has been a driving force in the French underground for many years. He is best known as a resident DJ at the legendary Rex Club in Paris, where he wowed crowds for over a decade. He has a precise and technical mixing style that keeps things fresh and leaves crowds wowed wherever he plays around the world as he joins the dots between sophisticated house, techno, and minimal styles, while his productions have always found their way into high-profile record bags belonging to the likes of Jeff Mills and Kevin Saunderson. His early success led to him very quickly collaborating with Robert Hood, Octave One, Aril Brikha, Claude Young, and Rolando, among other legends, and over the years, he has released several key albums and EPs. They include his debut Blackstage in 2001, many great tracks with his wife Bárbara Goes, collabs with the Franco-Chinese duo Technasia, John Tejada, Dan Bell, and Losoul, among many more.
After an adventure living in Africa with his wife, the pair returned to live in Portugal and developed their new label, Ginga Music. From house to funk, disco to samba and hip-hop, minimal to techno, each release takes in a rich array of influences that have won the label plenty of plaudits from DJs and dancers alike. John has also produced Deep Hop, a standout album where he established a bridge between house and hip-hop after a career dedicated to musical exploration. Right now, he draws on all those years of experience and continues to push forward and break all new boundaries of electronic music.
