MAYBE LAURA

I am fascinated by the DJ’s ability to unify the dance floor, to make people forget about everything outside and keep their attention all night long,” says Maybe Laura, who has now perfected that art herself. She possesses a natural ear for sound and sublime technical skills that have made her one of the most exciting names in the scene with a sound that is all her own, from dark disco to wave, twitchy electronics to broken beat, experimental rhythms to dubbed out tech. She serves it all up with control and power that moves any club.

Mature beyond her years in terms of her advanced sounds and skillful manipulations on the decks, Lithuania-born Maybe Laura has turned heads not only locally, but internationally: this summer she plays cult festivals Houghton and Field Manoeuvres where she is sure to pick up plenty more fans. Whatever Laura does, she succeeds, from gymnastics at the age of seven to taking up playing brass instruments, singing in the local choir and even participating in her hometown folklore group and being part of a choreographic theatre project where the music varied from classical and jazz to contemporary, experimental and modern, sound and motion have always been at the heart of what she does.
