Plantada Reggae is a new and multicultural roots and reggae band with a Brazilian twist that came together in 2017. It’s the unmistakable sound of summer, powered by heavyweight low ends and authentic island guitars that draw you in deep, all topped off with Portuguese vocals that bring an exotic twist.
The band comprises founding members Wagner Cidreira, Aleh Santos and Theu Nasci with Felipe, Ilia, Guy, Ricardo, Assad and Josef completing the line-up. Between them they play drums, bass, guitar, percussion and vocals and have cooked up sublime fusion sounds such as their first EP Semente Plantada featuring breakout singles ‘Sem Hipocrisia, ‘Jardim de Johny’ and ‘Brota Planta.’
This collective has played Musa Cascais Festival, the largest reggae event in Portugal alongside names like Horace Andy, Don Carlos and Freddy Locks amongst more, as well as at several other important venues such as the Festival of Avante in Seixal, the Sunset Festival of Arrifana in Algarve, the Festival of Colors in Alentejo, the Reggae B.Leza movement in the B.Leza Clube in Lisbon and many more. For an all-new kind of reggae experience, look no further than Plantada Reggae.
